OPEN COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS

To be the "chair" of a committee means you're the organizer, but you won't do it alone.

Emergency Preparedness Representative: The Emergency Preparedness Rep provides Emergency Preparedness (E-Prep) information, training, and resources for teachers, parents, and students.

Reflections Chair: The Reflections Program is a national PTA arts education and recognition program. The Chair helps collect and submit the art created by students at Kokanee Elementary for higher recognition to Northshore Council.

Auction Chair: Calling all detail-oriented party people! Every other spring, Kokanee PTA holds an auction to raise funds for all the programs, grants, educational experiences, and supplies we provide to our community. In the past, it has been a chance for the adults to get dressed up and donate to a good cause. We are open to new more inclusive approaches to this event. The chair doesn't do everything, just compiles the information, and checks off the to-do list in the lead up to the event.

Advocacy Chair: This is a new position to help members learn about the opportunities to advocate for their child, and understand what the PTA is doing legislatively on a national, state and local level. The chair will share information about  about National PTA's policy priorities for the 117th Congress on issues impacting children, families and schools. which bills in Congress National PTA supports, opposes and is monitoring, and Take Action Alerts.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair: Our differences bring value to our community. Everyone belongs and deserves respect and representation. Whether we're discussing age, ethnicity, gender, language and culture, socioeconomic status, among many different things. This chair partners with the HiCap Rep and the SpEd Liaison to evaluate the effectiveness of how the needs of our diverse learners are being met, and where families need more support. The National PTA has provided many new resources we hope to share with our community.
