Why join the PTA?
Kokanee Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Association supports critical academic needs, is an active voice on decisions that impact your child’s health, safety and quality of education, and builds a stronger, more inclusive school community. Becoming a member shows your support for the education and well-being of all children.
Our goal is 100% membership among parents - a larger membership means:
- a stronger legislative voice at the national, state, and local levels
- quality school enrichment with the programs and events we sponsor, such as Raz Kids, Scholastic News, and classroom Art Docents.
- better closing of the public school funding gaps via grants to the school for technology support, field trips, supplies and much more.
There is no wrong or right way to be involved – anything you can give, whether it’s time or money, will support your child’s potential. Joining does not obligate you to volunteer, we invite you to join because we can do more together than apart.
Who can join the PTA?
Membership is open to anyone interested in the health, safety, and education of children regardless of school boundaries. Our goal is a membership that reflects the diversity of the children and families across our state.
Anyone who would like to become a part of the state’s oldest and largest child advocacy organization may do so by joining a local or community PTA.

Membership Benefits
As a member, you have a voice and a vote in the PTA. You contribute to the discussion on issues that are important to you and your family. Use your vote to help guide the direction and allocate the PTA budget. Your membership does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer your time.
Your membership alone is greatly appreciated! Amazing member benefits are available through Washington State PTA. Log in information will be provided at the beginning of the school year.
